Review: The Treasure of God's Word~Celebrating 400 Yrs of the King James Bible

I say: Gorgeous book and I love it!

This collection of Scripture is not your everyday Bible promise book, while it is that, it also has a written history of the English translation, the King James Version Bible.  I love good Bible promise books that give my weary heart a glimpse into God's goodness for His people, and since Treasury of God's Word is such a beautiful book with its leatherette cover in a rich ruddy chocolate brown, gold title and gold page edges the exterior beauty alone doesn't compare to the wonderful message inside.  The old adage to never judge a book by its cover is lost here because you can judge this beautiful book by its lovely cover!

Inside you will find detailed Scripture promises for everyday life organized by topics.  They include God's nature in which Scriptures concerning His love, grace, mercy, Spirit, compassion, faithfulness, kindness, patience, forgiveness, righteousness comfort, power, strength, presence (45 total)....all explored with nothing but the beautiful words of life~the Bible..and the King James Version at that!

The history of the KJV is fully explored from the beginning prior to 1611 when the first King James Version was published to the current revision the New King James Version in 1982.

I absolutely LOVE this book and have already found several uses for it in my Christian walk.

I intend to use it as inspiration on troubling days to offer a quick reference to the nature and promises of God to relieve my spirit and soul offering me growth and hope.

I intend to use the KJV history to teach our children the exciting progress of how the English speaking world gained its most treasured Book~the KJV Bible!

I will also use it to provide Bible study resources in theme for the youth group I teach each week.

I could also make this book a lovely gift for family or friends, even using it to give as a gift at church for Mother's or Father's Day to the one who has the most family present as is the tradition in our church. (I'm keeping this one! LOL)

You will love The Treasure of God's Word~Celebrating 400 Yrs of the King James Bible!

I say: A tear jerker and heart warming!

I received The Way Home from Book Sneeze in exchange for my honest opinions and no monetary compensation.  My opinions are my own.

What is NOT to love about an adorable little brown eyed baby boy and a story of healing in the face of trial for his family?  Little Joe Simpkins goes missing while his Daddy was supposed to be watching~All the emotions imaginable crash down on this young couple as the community comes together to search...and it doesn't look good...will he be found?   Search and rescue through community both public, private and religious come together to help...but ONLY God can heal...AND there is healing despite... (I'm not sharing!  Girls, you will want to see this film;  it's definitely a chic flick!   I am not sure that some men will like it as it's not fraught with loads of action, but it is very inspiring and aimed showing a man's call to become a better husband and father, so wives will WANT our husbands to see it, for sure!)  There are some special characters in this story~I found the Deputy Bert to lend a slight chuckle... I don't want to spoil it for you!! ~and Ed found a warm place in my heart...

I'm a GA girl~so the sights and sounds are a WONDERFUL surprise to this homesick gal~I recognized the terrain and culture portrayed...VERY believable story ~excellent performances by all involved!

Dean Cain and Lori Beth Edgemon bring the story to life!

You won't be disappointed in The Way Home~it's inspirational and will make everyone who sees it THINK about the IMPORTANT things in life~

Review: Fearless~Imagine Your Life Without Fear by Max Lucado

Fearless~Imagine Your Life Without Fear
Author: Max Lucado
Publisher: Thomas Nelson
ISBN:  978-0-8499-2139-1
Pages: 221
Price:  $24.99
I say: I really enjoyed it!

Fear is one of those things we all have that can nag us in the back of our minds ripping us of joy and peace.  Max Lucado shares an overcomer's manual to living life free of those fears!  Being free from fear and living in Him~knowing that He has it all handled for our best~we are His creation and His design~that He cares so much we can trust Him!  Courage combats fear with faith!  I found Fearless inspirational, and you will too!

Max Lucado is a master storyteller who can weave the messages of God in unique ways.  One is of a young boy driving in wild abandon down the road, without whim or care~in His father's lap!  Can't we live our lives and drive on fearlessly when we are in our Father's lap too? There's wonderful safety and peace in His presence!

Descriptions of Jesus in the Garden with His fears, His own distress over the coming terror, the cruel death on the cross when all the way Jesus shows us that He laid His fears and distress at the feet of God~in prayer to trust Him for His future. We can do the same?  Fear is conquered in courage through faith and enabled by prayers.  Max Lucado shows the way...

You will want to read Fearless! Walk away from anxiety and angst and live in a way that is peaceful! Get this book HERE!
