My friend over at Garden of Learning is hosting the 2010 Gratitude Challenge, thirty days of finding all the wonderful things in our lives to be thankful for during the month of November. I decided to join up~I mean, who can't use a little more gratitude in their life, and I'm no exception. I have sooo much to be thankful for from the wonderful hub sitting right next to me, to the warm home we have and our incredible children. But today, I wanna be a "little wee bit selfish" and Thank God for me...I know it sounds silly, but I've not always been the kindest to myself, and as a...DARE I SAY IT~middle aged (I remember WHEN I got THIS realization!!) gal, I still got it going pretty good. I have reasonable health despite the damage I've done. I have a sound mind (USUALLY...LOL). I still have my teeth and hair (waiting on the equine doc to show and...LOL). Well, just in general, for this first post...selfish as it IS..it's about me. I am thankful to be ME...No one can be ME, and I can't be you. You can't be ME either...we were ALL given our own unique set of everything God intended for us~some good and some of it pretty tough. But overall, life is pretty sweet, and I am soo blessed with myself. I couldda been Jack the Ripper's wife wondering WHY he didn't come home at night OR Imelda Marcos with soo many shoes that...LOL..(bad humor, I KNOW!) But IT makes up ME...
Anyway, BEING thankful for me in no way diminishes my thankfulness to God for Him...without Him, where would I be or you be or any of us be?
Today is day #1 and there's a bunch of us BEing THANKful over HERE! BE BLESSED!

I love this! I think too often as women we forget to be thankful for ourselves. Thanks so much for sharing! :-)
Thanks for stopping by my blog. I love your post and blog. Following now too.
I LOVE your sentiment! You're right there are so many THINGS that we are thankful for, and people and circumstances, but often we forget to simply be thankful that we are US. :) Thanks for the reminder
This is a beautiful thought! I'm always hard on myself and always telling people how thankful I am for my man and my kids. Thanks for the reminder to be thankful for myself too!
Blessings~
